Paxos - Sunflower Books

This edition of Paxos has been thoroughly revised just prior to publication. The map has been redrawn using OpenStreetMap source material with GPS tracking. It shows waypoints, and free downloadable GPS tracks are available for all the walks. Satnav coordinates are given to the start of each walk for motorists. Colour coding on the Contents page enables you to see at a glance the grading of various walks.
This is the ideal ‘get away from it all’ destination — where everyone strolls through olive groves and along the coast.

Paxos, just 19 sq km of cosy countryside, is little more than a broken fragment of hills sitting anchored off the southern end of Corfu. The hills are cloaked in a cool mantle of olive trees. Dark groves of cypresses pierce this silvery-green mantle. In the shade of these wooded hills lie sprinklings of rustic hamlets. But the real beauty of Paxos is the dazzling necklace of turquoise green coves that collar the eastern coastline.

Area covered: all of Paxos and neighbouring Antipaxos.

The best months for walking in Paxos are April, May, June, September and October.
